Resolve Issues With Your Heart and Circulation (Arteries and Veins)

We offer procedures in-house and at the Hospital in Casper, Rock Springs, WY

Most of the cardiology procedure can be done as outpatient.  Unless there is a need to use the cardiac catheterization lab at WMC the procedure can be done at the office.  Same procedures done at the Office are a lot less expensive and less time consuming compared to when they are done at a hospital.

Office Based Cardiac Procedures

We are the only Cardiology practice in Wyoming to offer in office sedation and related procedures.

  1. Echocardiogram: It looks at the structures of the heart - muscle (function and thickness), valves (leaky or stenotic), Chambers (size and inside pressures), and Major arteries (aorta and pulmonary artery) among other things.
  2. Stress Test: There are 2 ways to exercise the heart, and with each way we have different imaging options that increase the accuracy of the test:

    • Exercise: Treadmill alone, Treadmill Echocardiogram, or Treadmill Nuclear Stress Test
    • Chemical:  Dobutamine Echocardiogram or Lexiscan Nuclear Stress Test

  3. Monitors: They assess the presence or abscence of Arrhythmia and whether it correlates with the patient symptoms.  Monitors are different based on the duration.  Holters are for 24-48 hours.  Event monitors are for 30 days.  Implatable loop recorders are for 3 years.
  4. Tilt Table Test: offered both in office in Casper and Rock Springs.  They are designed to assess VasoVagal Syncope and POTS.
  5. Transesophageal Echocardiogram: The only Cardiology practice in Wyoming to offer this in the office and avoid the hospital.  This advanced echocardiogram is done by inserting an echo probe into the esophagus.  By doing this we get much better pictures because a regular echocardiogram done from the outside has the lungs and chest bones in the way and ultrasound waves do not travel through bone or air.  This allows much higher resolusion and allows us to see pockets inside the heart where clots can hide.  It also allows us to better quantify the degress of valve leak or valve stenosis to prepare for heart surgery.  We are also able to see small holes in the heart that we can otherwise miss with a regular echocardiogram.  These pockets with clots and or holes in the heart can often be causing strokes.
  6. Cardioversion: The only Cardiology practice in Wyoming to offer this in the office and avoid the hospital.  We put paddles on the heart and deliver a shock that puts the patient back into Normal Sinus Rhythm.
